What does it mean when you have a dream where only one color is vivid and everything is that color?

I had the most interesting dream.  I turned into this neighborhood and it was stunning, houses where beautiful and all of them were different shades of blue with white trim and in the center of the neighborhood was a celebration, with a pretty woman with red hair (the only thing not blue) and she was singing and although the lyrics were sad, I was so happy listening to her sing - totally mesmerized. Woke up feeling amazing  - Strange? what does all the vivid blue mean?

I've been asked this before, about blue. the color blue I believe is connected to devotional thought forms. devotion is a form of faithfulness to God and a form of love, mixed in with a desire to return to God. we are blessed to be able to wake up feeling amazing like that, the reason it feels strange is because it's one of those moments of being blessed by an irregular dream. I occasionally get them too, and they are rare. it's imprinted on your memory now, perhaps as time goes on, you will learn more about the "blue town" and the red haired lady and if it has any meaning beyond that it was like a gift, being able to visit another dimension momentarily. meanwhile, colors are thoughts and thoughts have color as does emotions have color. but of course only seen by the 3rd eye.

Depending on the other elements in your dream (people, actions, setting, etc.), the color blue may represent one of two things, either (1) you feel peaceful, calm and tranquil in your waking life; or (2) your subconsious is trying to help you work through an actual non-peaceful or stressful situation or relationship that's in your life.

If you ask most people whether or not they dream in color, the answer is usually "no", but experts in human dreams say we all do dream in color but don't remember most dreams that way because they "fade" after waking.

I recall a dream I had years ago that was in "technicolor." The setting was the Taj Mahal, and every color was vivid and beautiful, with a bright blue sky over the palace and the long pool of water in front of the palace a brilliant blue-green.  I have no idea what color that water is in actuality since I've never been to the Taj Mahal, though I've seen photographs of it all my life. I mostly just wandered around in my dream and marveled at the beauty of it all, the colors, the graceful arches of the architecture, tiles, spires, etc. Even though the Taj Mahal is a major tourist attraction, I didn't see another person there...I was allowed to enjoy it alone.

Needless to say, that dream lingered in my memory because it was so visually arresting, but I never tried to analyze what it meant to me personally. I simply enjoyed it for its beauty. So much better and restful than a nightmare!

By the way, anyone who reads this who has experience in dreams analysis is welcome to chime in with an opinion of what my Taj Mahal in Technicolor dream meant....

Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. Perhaps you are expressing a desire to get away. The presence of this color in your dream may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind. Alternatively, the color blue may also be a metaphor for "being blue" and feeling sad.

If you are wearing light blue in your dream, then it symbolizes your creativity. You like to pace yourself in whatever you are doing.

Blue – When dreaming of the color blue the bible describes this color as being one of the royal and heavenly colors. It also illustrates in the bible that the Lord told Israel to bid which means to put on the fringes of their clothing a blue cord to remember His commandments. The bible also refers the color blue as being God’s spirit or word.

Positive: This color could symbolize having a heavenly visitation from the Lord and the dreamer may receive a divine revelation through spiritual gifts. Dreaming of the color blue could represent being chastened by the Father, for the blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil. It could in one context mean water, to cleanse or to drink freely by the spirit. (If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink.) (II Chronicles 3:14; Numbers 4:5-7, 15:38-40; Exodus 26:1, 27:16, 28:8, 31; Esther 8:15; Proverbs 20:30

Negative: To dream of the color blue may also mean to be corrupted or dishonest through vanity and having idols before God. Blue could also mean being depressed (as in singing the blues’). (Jeremiah 10:8-9, Ezekiel 23:3-8)
